Equip: Cross Cultural Ministry

When: Wednesday 17 October
Time: 7.00 – 9.00pm
Where: in the church house

Equip is a series of evening workshops to equip us for devotion, mission and service in and beyond the local church. You may remember we ran a number of Equip nights a couple of years ago. We are looking forward to starting this up again, following the modules in Andrew Schachtel’s book, “Changing Lanes, Crossing Cultures”. TUC has a number of copies of the book to give to those interested in attending Equip, so please pick one up in the foyer this Sunday. We thank Ross Homel for his initiative and leadership in starting up this study. Please be in touch with Ross for further information: r.homel@griffith.edu.au

Everyone is most welcome to join us for our first session on Wednesday 17 October at 7.00pm in the church house. Please eat dinner beforehand. We will also meet on the following Wednesday evenings, focussing on a different module each time: 24 October, 7 November, 21 November, 5 December.

The aim of these evenings is to empower us with the mindset, skills, and tools to relate more effectively to, share Christ with, and serve the huge diversity of people living in the Toowong area – people from dozens of different countries. Andrew’s book delves into the Biblical foundations for this, as well introducing ideas on the How and When. Please be praying for the group as they seek Bible-based knowledge and skills, and the discernment of the Holy Spirit, to diffuse ‘cross-cultural sensitivity and skills’ across members of the body of Christ at TUC.
