Things must be slow just now...we've got nothing coming up. Check back soon and there's sure to be something on!!
If you'd like to know more about what's happening at TUC this month, please take a look at our June newsletter. Printed copies of the newsletter can be found in the church foyer. We look forward to continuing our studies on the book of Ephesians at both Morning Worship (9am) and Sunday Twilight (6pm) in June.
One of the practical ways we as a church can assist people in and beyond our congregation is by providing meals. These meals mean that the person who is ill, or who is taking care of someone who is ill, doesn’t need to worry about cooking. Currently our reserves of meals in the church freezer are quite low and we would like to build up those reserves a little more in the near future. If you are able to provide a meal for someone in need, or even provide the ingredients, please get in touch with Wendy: email@example.com
Playgroup runs every Friday during the school term from 9.30 – 11.00am in the hall. Playgroup recommences in term 3 on Friday 14 July. Please get in touch with Clare for more information: firstname.lastname@example.org
Our free English Conversation Classes run every Monday during the school term from 9.30 – 11.30am in the hall. The classes are very relaxed, and are a great way for people to practise speaking English while getting to know each other. The classes are currently on a break over the school holidays, and will recommence in term 3 on Monday 10 July. Please get in touch with Barry for more information: email@example.com
A sincere thank you to all who donate so generously to the TUC pantry. Recently, the pantry has been able to support a number of people from the community. While we still have plenty of pasta, we are in need of the following items: boxed microwave dinners, cans of baked beans/spaghetti, tinned tuna (different flavours), packet soups, Special K, spreads (peanut butter/vegemite/jam), pasta sauce, tinned beetroot, juice, sauce (tomato /BBQ), biscuits, coffee. If you’re able to add an extra item to your weekly shop, that would be much appreciated. Pantry donations may be left in the marked box in the church foyer.
Please note the TUC office will be closed over the upcoming school holidays from Monday 26 June. The office will reopen on Tuesday 11 July.
The Friday Playgroup at TUC is a great way for families with young children to connect and feel part of the community. Our volunteers love getting to know the families, and it’s lovely to see friendships develop between parents and between children. Currently, about 70-80 people (including children) are coming each week. We also see about 5 new families join each week. This means Playgroup is growing and growing! To continue to support the families in our area, we intend to start a second Playgroup. Please be praying for this, and if you’re interested in volunteering please get in touch with Clare: firstname.lastname@example.org
Every second Tuesday night during the school term from 7.00 – 9.00pm. Click here to see all the dates Pastorate will meet in term two. Pastorate is a great way to get to know God while also building friendships with each other. We aim to make Pastorate a safe and friendly place where anyone came come to learn, ask questions, and connect with our community. A typical evening goes a bit like this: we enjoy a meal together, sing some songs, hear from different people in the group, unpack a bit of the bible and talk about what it means, and pray together. Everyone is most welcome to come along.
6.30 – 8.30pm
Our Senior Youth Group (grades 9 – 12) meet every second Saturday night during the school term for games, bible study and prayer. Please get in touch with Clare for more information: email@example.com
As we put together the morning roster for August – November, we’re looking to fill the following roles: greeting at the door, running the data projector, serving morning tea, counting the offering, doing the bible reading, playing an instrument/singing with the Worship Team. We’d also like to know if you’d be willing to serve in any way at Sunday Twilight. If you’d like to join in, please contact Louise and let her know which roles appeal to you, and what dates suit you: firstname.lastname@example.org

TUC is calling all interested people to form an International Missions Task Group to seek out ideas on how we can best support and engage with meaningful, life-transforming international Christian missions. The aim of the Task Group will be to discuss and discern how we might better partner with and promote global missions at TUC. If you have an interest in international missions/outreach and would like to join the Task Group, please get in touch with Steve: email@example.com

The challenges we face: scientists reflect on why they believe
Friday 28 July, 7.00 – 9.00pm
Curiosity killed the cat and sometimes it feels like it could kill Christian faith. Questions about suffering, Biblical texts that seem to make fanciful claims, the reason why there’s something rather than nothing…you can soon start wondering if it’s reasonable to believe. At the next Trinity Unplugged, Nathan Palpant (a researcher of stem cells and cardiovascular development at the Institute for Molecular Bioscience, University of Queensland) will join with other scientists to reflect on how they meet the challenges posed for Christian faith in the modern world. A great event to bring along senior youth groups, university friends, or your family. Click here for more information. Please RSVP by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
When: Saturday 29 July
Time: 6.00 – 9.00pm
