We're having our next Working Bee on Saturday 28 October!
To beat the heat, we'll meet from 8.30am and finish at 12.30pm. Following on from our last Working Bee in April, and the recent roof renovations and painting, there are plenty of general cleaning jobs to do. If you've got an hour to spare on the 28th, it would be much appreciated if you could come along to help out. For those interested, we can head down the road for some lunch afterwards.

One of the practical ways we as a church can assist people in and beyond our congregation is by providing meals. These meals mean that the person who is ill, or who is taking care of someone who is ill, doesn’t need to worry about cooking. Currently our reserves of meals in the church freezer are quite low and we would like to build up those reserves a little more in the near future. If you are able to provide a meal for someone in need, or even provide the ingredients, please get in touch with Wendy: firstname.lastname@example.org
Time: 9.30 – 11.30am
Our free English Conversation Classes run every Monday during the school term from 9.30 – 11.30am in the hall. The classes are very relaxed, and are a great way for people to practise speaking English while getting to know each other. Please get in touch with Barry for more information: email@example.com
Our current Playgroup runs every Friday during the school term from 9.30 – 11.00am. Due to the growing numbers, we intend to start another Playgroup to support families in our community. This will require another leader working under the direction of Clare Hankamer, our Families Worker. This new Playgroup will most likely meet on a Thursday morning. For more information about the role, please get in touch with Clare: firstname.lastname@example.org
This Christmas, TUC is once again taking part in Wesley Mission Queensland’s Red Bag Appeal to provide non-perishable food items and Christmas groceries to families in need all across South East Queensland. If you would like to be involved, simply take a Red Bag from the church foyer, fill it with grocery items then return it to the foyer by Sunday 19 November. Shopping lists are also available in the foyer with ideas for what to buy. If you do not wish to fill a whole bag, there will be communal bags in the foyer to which you can contribute individual items. Please get in touch with Lauren for more information: email@example.com

Matt will be ordained on Sunday 12 November at 2pm at The Gap Uniting Church.
TUC is calling all interested people to form an International Missions Task Group to seek out ideas on how we can best support and engage with meaningful, life-transforming international Christian missions. The aim of the Task Group will be to discuss and discern how we might better partner with and promote global missions at TUC. If you have an interest in international missions/outreach and would like to join the Task Group, please get in touch with Steve: firstname.lastname@example.org

The bible makes a whole lot of truth claims – but can we rely on these as true? Should a modern person give even scant attention to a narrative that claims that a personal God created the world? Leigh Trevaskis investigates this at the next Trinity Unplugged.
For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
